English
The fifth through eighth grade Language Arts include a comprehensive Vocabulary study; as well as English grammar, creative writing, essays and research papers. All students prepare a writing portfolio, that follows C O P S - Capitalization, Over-all appearance, Punctuation and Spelling.
All literature classes, grades 5 through 8 work on reading comprehension skills, finding the main ideas, inference and study skills while reading short stories, poems and chapter books. All genres are explored and enjoyed through creative book reports. Poetry, oral recitations, plays, and even live theater, are enjoyed.
Every year the students follow a literature theme and prepare original reading posters for National Book Week.
The love of the Lord is found in every Language Arts lesson. We see God in everything we read and write. We definitely follow "Christ In All We Do."
The Language Arts classes follow the Munsch-kin motto:
Good, better, best
Never should you rest
Till your good is better
And your better is best.
Do your best
Trust God to do the rest.
