Chapel – Chapel will be on Tuesday, February 28th at 8:30am in the church. Family and friends are always welcome to worship with us. Chapel will be in the school gym in the event of inclement weather.
4th, 5th & 6th Grade Play – “So In Everything” - Tonight at 7:00pm. This play deals with the issue of bullying. Please come and see the message our students are trying to share. You will also enjoy the show and our talented performers! “So in everything, do unto others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12
Re-Registration – We asked for your re-registration to be back by today, February 24th. If you have not returned it, please do so A.S.A.P. We are looking forward to next year and really trying to plan. We need accurate numbers of how many children we will have to determine our schedule. We want to plan the BEST possible programs for your children!
Beefsteak/Tricky Tray Tickets Still Available –
There is still time to get your tickets for our school’s biggest fundraiser of the year! The big event is on Saturday, March 10th. A good time is had by all and it includes an all you can eat filet mignon dinner with fries, salad and a dessert. Great items are available for auction and chance. Please see Ms. Bee in the school office to buy tickets or if you have any questions!
Beefsteak Donations and Class Baskets – Please remember that all donations and class baskets are due in the school office by February 29th. If you have not donated, please consider doing so, if you are able. All donations are tax deductible. Remember, you can also ask businesses that you frequent to make donations. We have letters in the office that you can give them. Their donations are also tax deductible. Thank you!
Calling All Volunteers! – We will need your help the week before the auction. The final basket making and wrapping will be done during the week of March 5th. More details on the days and times will follow. You may also call the school office or Margaretha Held for more information.
Baked Good Needed - We are in need of baked goods to be served at the Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, March 4th. If you can bake something it would be greatly appreciated. You may drop your baked goods off in the school office on Friday, March 2nd or you may bring them to the church on the morning of the breakfast, March 4th. It takes help from many people to make our events a success – THANK YOU!
Pancake Breakfast Help! – Our Annual Pancake Breakfast is on Lutheran Schools Sunday, March 4th from 9:00am – 12 noon. We NEED your help to make this event happen! Please call Dante Dano at 201-573-1875 or Ted Foundopoulos at 201-664-5404 if you can help in any way. We especially need help setting up that morning and cleaning up after the breakfast.
Lutheran Schools Week – Please see attached schedule of events for Lutheran Schools Week, March 4th – 10th.
Easter Candy Sale – Zion Nursery School is having the Gertrude Hawk Easter Candy Sale fundraiser. The proceeds benefit our entire school, Nursery through 8th grade! This is a fundraiser that our school has been doing for many years. They have a very nice selection of delicious chocolates and candies for Easter. If you are interested in ordering Easter candy, please see Ms. Bee in the office for a catalog.
N.U.T. Day – We will be having our final N.U.T. day on Thursday, March 1st for “Pennies for Patients.” Tickets are $1.00 and will be sold by the Munsch-kins from Monday, February 27th to Thursday, March 1st. Thanks for your support in this mission and please keep all people with cancer in your prayers.
2012 Yearbook – Orders are still being taken for the 2012 yearbook at $25.00 each. Orders should be placed in a labeled envelope with the $25 and given to Mrs. Dawson or the school office.
Lost and Found – Please remember to check the Lost & Found outside the school office before the end of the month. On the last day of the month all unclaimed items will be donated. Thank you.
Touring Handbells – will meet on Tuesday, February 28th from 3:00 – 4:00pm in the band room.
Beginner Handbells & Signing Club – will meet on Thursday, March 1st from 3:00 – 4:00pm in Mrs. Walz’s room.
KFC Lunch – The 8th grade will sponsor a KFC Lunch on Tuesday, February 28th. Please see attached order form. NOTE – the form and $ are due in homeroom on Monday, February 27th.
Hero Lunch – The School Board will sponsor a Hero Lunch on Thursday, March 1st. Please see attached order form. NOTE – the form and $ are due in homeroom on Tuesday, February 28th.
Pizza Lunch – The 8th grade will sponsor a Pizza Lunch on Friday, March 2nd. The price is $1.50 per slice. Please send your money in a labeled envelope. Money is due by homeroom on Tuesday morning, February 28th.
Hot Dog Lunch – The School Board will sponsor a Hot Dog Lunch on Monday, March 5th. Please see the attached order form. Note – the form and money are due in homeroom on Tuesday, February 28th.
Manna – (GIFT CARDS) for Shop Rite, Kings, and Stop & Shop can be purchased in the school office. Please note at this time we are not ordering A&P gift cards. This is an easy way for you to support our school while you grocery shop at no additional cost to you! Please call the school office at 201-664-8060 before coming to make sure the gift cards you want are available. An order form that may be sent in with your child is attached for your convenience.
General Mills Box Tops – Please remember to save box tops and bring them to school and put them in the box outside the office. This is an easy way to help Zion. We get money from General Mills for these!
